A lot of items are severely overpriced and close to the original retail price. But hardly anything is priced, and when you ask for a price it seems they just make one up on the spot. Lots of cool items and tons of name brands. This thrift store is huge, which looked promising. People working here have no fashion sense. The Items they had for sale in their store were wrinkled, extremely dated, very worn and out of shape. I had beautiful designer items, many unworn with price tags still attached, as well as many Items that had only been worn once. I know that no one even looked at the clothing, because I was sitting right outside the doorway and could see that the basket of clothing had not been touched by anyone. She told me the clerk helping me had reviewed everything, and they were not taking anything. Clerk still not around, another person asked what I needed, and I told them I was waiting for someone to look at my clothes. I Waited almost an hour, heard nothing, so peeked my head in the back to find out the Status. Clerk left the back room 2 minutes later and never returned. clerk told me it would take her 15 to 20 minutes to review my basket of clothing and shoes. Went to drop off clothes for consignment. The lighting is a little dim in places and it can make it more difficult to spot the pieces you might be hunting for, but it's not to the level of mid-2000s Hollister lighting.Īll in all, this is no Goodwill and you will probably find something you like at a really good price point. Perhaps a seating area with a soft couch and rug might help absorb the sound and give reason for shoppers to stay longer. I know this business is moving locations next month, so hopefully the new location will feel a bit softer and inviting. A few critiques: even with all the clothing, the cement floors make the place feel more cavernous and cold than it actually is. There was only one pair of boots I saw that were probably priced too high for my budget at over $200 all the clothing I picked up was in the $25-45 range. They curate a pretty nice selection of brands and the racks are well-organized and not too crowded. My Sister's Closet is a really good consignment shop. Beyond disappointed with my whole experience here. Me, and 1 other couple no where near me, that was it! And I couldn't even get the courtesy after being here all week to enjoy 1 glass of wine outside because I had a box of gluten free pizza beside me.which they do not serve here. Aside from 1 couple on the far other side of the outside seating area, there were no other people outside and the bar windows were even closed to the outside area. Tonight was the only night I decided to stay and sit outside of the hotel since I am leaving so early and wanted to simply enjoy a little more of the nice weather. I ordered a glass of wine from the bar and was sitting outside when I was asked to leave for bringing outside food. I need to leave at 4 am so did not want to go out. On top of it all, tonight is my last night here after 5 nights and I decided to bring a gluten free pizza back and sit outside for a little bit. The rooms are bare minimum, closet space beyond miniscule (I can barely hang a work suit in there), the treadmills in the fitness center are in serious need of upgrading as well, there are no amenities not even a bottle of water in the room, and the showers have hardly any water pressure. The hotel is definitely old and in need of renovations. I have been staying here for work travel because it's a convenient location to my meetings, but I will find another hotel in the area. This is my 3rd stay at the Marriott La Jolla.
